We’re so trained to fight disease that often we don’t realize how much can happen when we just get into a state of ease. For many of us, the symptoms we experience trigger us into fight-or-flight every time we notice them. This relationship creates a disturbance in the body that blocks healing.

So what are we to do when we don’t want the symptoms, but fighting is just making it worse? OR even more significant, we fear there’s something “wrong” with our body, and this amplifies the fight-or-flight response even more?

The key is to come into a higher awareness of what’s going on in your body and relate to it all in a whole new way, which is what MINDBODY MEDICINE is all about. 

How does this work?

Your cells are listening to your thoughts, ideas, and beliefs about your body.

When you have judgment, fear, or the idea that “I don’t have what I need,” your experience and body will register that and reflect it.

This is why we can search high and low for answers but continue to struggle with the same problems over and over again.

What is required before we can heal, is that we change our perspective and beliefs, so we can receive something new. The fear response just keeps us busy putting out fires. It’s time to get out of struggle and really receive what you need. See your MINDBODY MEDICINE prescription below. 

Step 1.

PAY CLOSE ATTENTION

What’s really happening in your body?
Release fear and any ideas, conclusions, or judgments, and just feel what’s going on.
Where do you notice the sensations?
What texture do they have?
Is there a temperature?
If these sensations had a color, what would that be?
Be objective in your awareness of your body, just letting these sensations in!
Write these down to anchor in your observation and release the pattern of making it mean anything other than this.

Take 3 to 5 conscious breaths to release any tension you are holding.
Let the breath come in through the nose, filling to your belly.
Let your belly expand out on the inhales, and sink in on the exhales.
Slow your inhales and exhales as much as is comfortable and see the energy of this tension and fear release as you exhale!
Do this as long as you need to so your body can do what it already knows how to do: release tension and come back into harmony.

Take 3 to 5 conscious breaths to release any tension you are holding.
Let the breath come in through the nose, filling to your belly.
Let your belly expand out on the inhales, and sink in on the exhales.
Slow your inhales and exhales as much as is comfortable and see the energy of this tension and fear release as you exhale!
Do this as long as you need to so your body can do what it already knows how to do: release tension and come back into harmony.

STEP 3.

GET CONSCIOUS

Ask yourself: “What do I really need?”
Are there things you need to let go of that have anchored you in this fear?
Maybe a health practitioner told you, “You will always have this disease” and so you think you can’t heal. Maybe someone said, “You have to rest and can’t do activities anymore” and so you feel hopeless. Maybe you have ideas about what is or is not possible for your body that feel heavy or depressing.
Meet these parts of yourself and be willing to question these conclusions.
Only you truly know what’s possible for you and what you are ready to receive.
Your body knows the difference between truth and a lie. When you buy into the idea that “I can’t heal” or “I’m getting old” or “I need medications” or anything that’s not serving you, this will feel heavy. When you remember “Anything is possible for me” or “I can open to something new” or “I surrender to the wisdom in me,” you feel lighter.
Be willing to let yourself know what you know and begin operating accordingly!

Who am I and why am I doing this work?

I’m an osteopathic physician who was board certified in Emergency Medicine. I had years of training to fight disease in the conventional model (which is great to handle the acute situation, but not great for chronic illness where we need to resolve the underlying cause and find the health)After following my inspiration and inner guidance, I left the ER entirely and expanded into using my intuitive abilities to assist healing. I now focus solely on what makes us heal.

Throughout my life, I have personally struggled in my relationships, career and physical health. As a medical student, I developed an “autoimmune illness” that doctors couldn’t figure out. I had severe pain, fatigue, and all kinds of mental/emotional symptoms. I knew about “mind over body” but the harder I tried to heal, the worse things got!

When I finally received a diagnosis and treatment plan, it felt heavy and hopeless. Because of how awful it felt to buy into that perspective, I suddenly realized this idea that my body was broken and needed to be fixed was not true for me.

It wasn’t true that I needed medications to heal.

It wasn’t true I would always suffer with this.

It wasn’t true that there was something wrong.

That day everything changed.

I began a new conversation with my body.

Instead of trying to heal and get better, I tuned in and let my body receive what it needed, no matter how scary that seemed. Almost immediately my symptoms resolved.

I was willing to release everything everyone else was telling me and to know what I knew deep inside: that I was whole and complete, and I could allow a resolution and receive all I needed. I just had to go deeper and release fear and conclusions.

This ended up being a massive gift, because not only were these fears and conclusions blocking my health, they were the same things that were holding back everything I was asking for in life!

From then on, I let life be easy. The journey into abundance has expanded ever since.

Now, I’ve committed my career to bringing this message to everyone who is ready to receive it.
